About Us
The Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) was founded by Dr. Benny Xu in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1997.
Our success in pioneering quality programs have been providing our students with the necessary qualifications and confidence to become leaders in the health care profession.
As the first TCM institution in Alberta, we have accomplished many of our objectives and our achievements have been well recognized in the profession.
In 2002, ACATCM and the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) established a formal joint venture relationship. Many of the excellent programs provided by BUCM, which have trained thousands of high quality professionals in the field are coming to Canada.
In 2005, ACATCM has been established as the Canadian Education Centre of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Since then, Interactive Visual Learning has became standard for all classes, and currently offering the following diploma programs, available on-campus and via Distance Learning:
