Our exclusive relationship with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine enables our students to access elite academic materials and support. Graduates of the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine may also apply for certification to the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) through Route 2 – Formal Education, International Applicants.

About Dr. Benny Xu

Dr. Benny Xu has been actively involved in the development of acupuncture in Alberta since 1992, and was a key member in lobbying TCM regulations from 2002-2006.  

In 2002, Dr. Xu led the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine to form an exclusive partnership, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Traditional Chinese Medicine offered through the joint venture with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

In 2005, Dr. Xu was honoured with the Alberta Centennial Medal for his significant contribution in TCM and Acupuncture education in Alberta.

Dr. Xu has served as a member of Acupuncture Committee; President of the Alberta Association of Acupuncturists and Chinese Medical Doctors; Vice President of Alberta Traditional Chinese Medical Science & Acupuncture Association; and is currently on the the Advisory Committee of the Mount Royal University Integrated Health Institute.
