Dr. Angela Lee
TCMD, MD(China), M.Sc
Dr. Angela Lee is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 2000 and Masters Degree specializing in Pediatrics from the Zhejiang College of TCM in 2003. Dr. Lee has also worked in the Health Promotions department of the Chinese Medicine Association (CMA) in Beijing, China, for two years.
Dr. Lee actively practiced TCM for 6 years in Beijing and various cities throughout the province of Zhejiang. She also worked on laboratory research projects focusing on TCM Pediatrics for 3 years. As the Dean of the Academic affairs at ACATCM, Dr. Lee focuses on the quality of education, as well as use of acupuncture and herbs to treat complicated conditions.
Dr. Colton J. Oswald
BA, TCMD, R.Ac
Dr. Oswald received his certificate of clinical practice in Chinese Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from WHO Acupuncture Training Center in Nanjing, China, in 1999. He became a registered acupuncturist in Alberta after he returned from China. Dr. Oswald graduated with a diploma in TCM from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Victoria, BC in 1999. He also received B.A. degree from the University of Calgary in 1995.
Dr. Oswald started teaching at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2001, his extensive knowledge in TCM has allow him to teach varies courses, include TCM Diagnostics, Herbology, Tui Na, External TCM, TCM Gynecology and Pediatrics, Patent Medicine and clinical internships. Dr. Oswald has 14 years experience in Taiji Quan and currently also held his own private clinical practices.
Dr. Mandy Liu
TCMD, MD (China), R.Ac, B.ScS
Dr. Mandy Liu received her medical degree in Sun Yet-san University of Medical Sciences, Guangzhou, China, majored in clinical medicine. From 1995-2000 she worked in the Dongshan Hospital, Guangzhou, China in her chosen medical field as a pediatrician. Dr. Liu was advanced trained in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine as Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, and has been involved with ACATCM since 2002.
In Canada, Dr. Liu started her career the Great Wall Clinic practicing acupuncture and TCM. With her background as a MD from China and the training in both conventional western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Liu has gained a great reputation for successfully helping patients with a variety of medical conditions, including sports injuries, neurological and muscular disorders, gynecological diseases and internal medicine. Dr. Liu has also been successful in resolving tension, stress and emotional conditions.
Dr. Dennis Lee
HBSc, MSc, TCMD, RAc(Alberta)
Dr. Lee received his certificate of clinical training in acupuncture and Chinese herbs from the Zhe Jiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, China in 2002. At the same year, Dr. Lee graduated from the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine as the top student and became a registered acupuncturist. Dr. Lee received a Master of Science degree from the University of Alberta, majoring in the field of cell biology in 2000. He also holds Honors Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Western Ontario (1996).
From 1993 to 1997, he was involved in Biomedical research projects at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica in Taiwan. Dr. Lee started teaching Introductory Biochemistry and Microbiology courses at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in September 2003 and has been heavily involved in the clinical and biomedical fields, as well as a private clinical practice at the Inner Balance Spa.
Dr. William W. Han
MD (China, USA & Canada), TCMD
Dr. Han was trained as Medical Oncologist in China since 1999 and was certified as MD by Medical Council of Canada in 2003 after passed MCCQE (Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination) and registered in College of Physician & Surgeons of British Columbia and Alberta as bedside physician since 2004. He also was certified as MD by ECFMG (Education Committee of Foreign Medical Graduates) after passed USMLE (United States Medical License Exams).
Dr. Han has been actively involved in medical education and research for the past decade, and has been contributing in varies medical research projects and TCM schools across Canada. As the Director of Western Medical Science at the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Han is dedicated to help students exploring the field of integrated medical practice.
Dr. ALEX AUDETTE
RAc, RMT, TCMD, B.Eng
Dr. Audette began his post-secondary education in Chemical Engineering, graduating from McGill University in 1993. He spent 7 years in Japan originally to study martial arts but in addition completed a 2 year diploma in Acupuncture and Massage Therapy from the Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology. This program was followed by a 2 year apprenticeship with Matsumoto Acupuncture Research Group in Kami-Fukuoka city and a 1 year apprenticeship in Shiatsu and Tsuina massage therapy. In 2000, Alex returned to Calgary and completed another 2 years of study at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and TCM.
Dr. Audette has been practicing Massage Therapy in Calgary since 2000 and transitioned into Acupuncture and TCM practice starting in 2002 at the Bionomic Center, a multi-disciplinary clinic. His multi-culture education backgrounds and unique clinical experience has been making him an unique addition to our faculty.
Dr. Rufei Faye Zou
TCMD, MD(China), RAc (Alberta)
Dr. Zou received her medical degree in Chinese medicine from the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1994. To extend her medical knowledge in Canadian health care system, Dr. Zou is presently completing her Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Zou was a physician in the acupuncture department of Shanghai Zhong Shang Hospital between 1994 and 2000. During 2000 to 2001, she was working as an assistant pharmacist at Da Sheng Tang TCM store in Vancouver, BC.
Dr. Zou start to taking many challenging rolls at the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine since September 2003, including both teaching and course developing.

Supporting Faculty
Professor Wang Mianzhi Famous as a traditional Chinese medicine scholar, he is an expert in the Study of Chinese Medical Formulae, the founder of the Chinese Medical Formula Subject, a Ph. D. instructor , a senior and famous physician with apprentice, and enjoys the special subsidy of the government. He was a member of the 6th, 7th, and 8th National Committee, Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Deputy-Director of the Science-Education-Health-Sports Committee. Professor Wang has been the Director of the New Drug and Chinese Patent Drug Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Health, Director of the International Exchange Center for Medicine and Health Care of the Ministry of Health, Deputy-Director of the China Traditional Chinese Medicine Association. He has been engaged in teaching, research and clinical practice for over 60 years; his main research field is epidemics, febrile disease, and the features of formulae in internal medicine, gynecology and pediatrics handed down by distinguished practitioners in history. He has instructed a total of over 40 Ph. D. and master's degree students, and served as an editor with 4 books, and published over 40 theses.

Professor Wang Yuchuan Famous traditional Chinese medicine scholar and an expert in Huang Di Nei Jing and the Basic Theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He was the earliest among the Chinese medicine scholars to study the theoretical system and academic connotation of Huang Di Nei Jing. He enjoys the special subsidy of the government and was a member of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th National Committee, Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Professor Wang was ever one of the vice-presidents, Academic Committee Director, and Director of the Higher Professional Post Evaluation Committee of the former Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Currently he is a consultant to the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and a member of the Higher Education Self-Learning Examination Committee of Beijing Municipality, a member of the Higher Education Faculty Post Evaluation Committee, and Honorary Director of the Institute of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. He has devoted himself for years to research in the basic theories of Chinese medicine and Nei Jing. His main researches are in the field of the evalution of yin-yang theory, theories of qi and blood circulation, theory of the five elements , etc. He is the chief editor of the "Connotation to Su Wen, Huang Di Nei Jing","Nei Jing Textbook","Health Preservation with Traditional Chinese Medicine",etc. He has also published more than 30 theses.

Professor Yan Zhenghua Distinguished traditional Chinese medicine scholar and pharmacologist. He is a Ph. D. instructor in the herbal pharmacology major, a senior and famous physician with apprentice, and enjoys the special subsidy of the government. Professor Yan has been a member of the Subject Evaluation Group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, a member of the Medicine and Pharmacology Group of the Science and Technology Committee of the National Education Committee, member of the China Pharmacopeia Committee, member of the National Drug Committee, member of the Medical Science Committee of the Ministry of Health. He is presently the Honorary Dean of the School of Chinese Materia Medica. He has devoted himself for years to traditional Chinese medical education, research, and clinical practice. His main field of research is in the theories of the nature of Chinese herbal medicines and their clinical use. He has been in charge of 2 ministry-level research programs; namely, "Promoting Longevity and Slowing Down Aging by Replenishing Essence, Nourishing Blood, and Increasing Blood Circulation" and"Mie Yan Ling". He is an editor with 7 publications.

Professor Cheng Shide Distinguished traditional Chinese medicine scholar, Nei Jing expert, and a Ph. D. instructor in the basic theories of Chinese Medicine major, a senior and famous physician with apprentice, and enjoys the special subsidy of the government. He has devoted himself for years to education, research, and clinical practice in the basic theories of Chinese medicine and Nei Jing. His main field of research is in the yin-yang theory of Nei Jing. A research program he has been responsible for wins the city-level science and technology achievement award. He is an editor with 13 publications and textbooks, and has published more than 20 theses.

Professor Liu Bichen Distinguished traditional Chinese medicine scholar and pediatric expert. He is one of the founders of our country's traditional Chinese pediatrics, a senior and famous physician with apprentice, and enjoys the special subsidy of the government. He was a deputy to the 6th, 9th, and 10th Beijing People's Congress, and a member of the Science-Education-Culture- Health and Sports Committee. He has been the Honorary Director of the National Chinese Pediatrics Society and the Director of the National Chinese Pediatrics Research Achievement Judging Committee. He has devoted himself for more than 60 years to education, research and clinical practice in pediatrics and his main field of research is in the clinical practice and experimental research of common, difficult, and miscellaneous pediatric diseases. He has been responsible for the research programs of the"Clinical Research into the Pediatric Ocular Muscle Type Myasthenia Gravis"and the "Fu Li Granules" derived from the "Five Orbiculi Theory", which won the 3rd prize of the National Science and Technology Advancement Award. He is an editor with over 10 publications in pediatrics, and has published over 100 theses. |
