Acupuncture can help with pain, placebo or not

migraineA new study published in Archives of Internal Medicine analyzed 29 studies involving 17,922 adults concluded that acupuncture is effective to relieve pain from chronic headaches, backaches and arthritis.

Authors wrote "this provides the most robust evidence to date that acupuncture is a reasonable referral option. "  Agreed by Dr. Avins: "acupuncture is relatively safe and uncertainty over how it works shouldn't stop doctors from offering it as an option for patients struggling with pain."
