Canadian Education Centre of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture MeridianWe are pleased to announce that after two years of preparation, Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) has been established as the Canadian Education Centre of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (CBUCM). This affiliation with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) is an extension of the joint venture agreement formed with BUCM in 2002.

The objective of the Centre is to deliver the highest quality Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) programs to prospective students and health care professionals, and to raise TCM practice to international levels. The education offered at CECBUCM is based on the same curriculum and standards followed by BUCM, one of the most respected TCM educational institutions in the world.

Beginning in the 2005-2006 calendar year the Centre will be offering the following diploma programs, available on-campus and via Distance Learning:

Students have the option of completing their internships at CECBUCM or BUCM. As such, graduates have the opportunity to be honored with two diplomas: one issued by Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine and another by Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

To receive the additional diploma from BUCM, students studying on-campus are required to complete a minimum of two weeks of their internship at appointed hospitals affiliated with BUCM in Beijing.

Distance Learning students are not required to complete any part of their internship at BUCM. These internships can be completed either at CECBUCM or BUCM for diplomas from both institutions to be awarded.

Prestigious curricula and experienced faculty are only two facets of the exceptional programs offered by CECBUCM. As a highly respected institution, the excellent clinical practice, knowledge, and credibility obtained by our graduates Calgaryare a few of the irreplaceable rewards that will help lead them to a successful future.

CECBUCM is accepting applications now. Prospective students may contact our administration office for further information.
