Admission Requirement

Candidates for admission to Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine should meet the following requirement accordingly, and should have demonstrated maturity, professional ethics, and ability to learn.


Application Procedures

Candidates never registered at the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine must complete the Application for Admission form which can be downloaded from our Download Center.

The completed forms must be submitted to our Registration Office, together with:


Application Deadlines

Candidates are encouraged to apply early to secure the seat and to ensure there is sufficient time to apply for financial assistance (if required). Application forms can be downloaded at out download-center.


Credit Transfer

Students who have completed courses at a university, college or other accredited institutions and programs, whose content and standards are deemed equivalent to courses offered at the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine, may be eligible for transfer credits.Each student will be considered on an individual basis.


Regulations In Canada

The acupuncture profession is regulated in Alberta and Quebec. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is regulated in British Columbia and Ontario. Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador are in different stages of discussions to regulate the acupuncture and TCM

In Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec, a licence to practise is required from the appropriate governing bodies of the respective provinces.
