Male infertility refers to the inability of a male to achieve a pregnancy in a fertile female, and is commonly due to deficiencies in the semen, and the semen quality is used as a surrogate measure of male fecundity.

The definition of infertility is usually the failure to conceive after 1 year of unprotected intercourse (European Society 1996). Infertility can be classified as either: Primary, (women who have never conceived), or Secondary, (women who have previously conceived).

At the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, our College Clinic has been having great success in helping women get pregnant naturally or in conjunction with assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures, such as IVF.
