Wanting to jumpstart my career in TCM, the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine was an easy choice for me. Professional, friendly staff and being the largest running school in Alberta were just a few things that enticed me. The program is set up for me to excel once I graduate by offering me a great learning environment and lots of real-world experience. ---Kenton |

I have been very happy with my education at ACATCM. I have been especially impressed by the quality of the instructors, their vast knowledge of TCM and Western Medicine, and the skill with which they communicate their knowledge to the class. I am confident that I have been given all the knowledge I need to successfully pass the provincial examination and to begin practicing. ---Lisa |
ACATCM is the perfect learning environment for me, especially after attending University for a few years. I can remember classes filled with 250 people trying to absorb as much information as possible but never really getting the opportunity to voice their own questions, as there was just too many bodies and not enough time. Now I have that opportunity and so do the rest of my classmates. Lectures are structured in a manner to provide ample opportunity for one-on-one learning which is fantastic not only from a student-learning perspective but it also allows for the development of a personal relationship and rapport with classmates and instructors as well. We’ve all developed a strong friendship with one another and genuinely want each other to succeed; It’s an amazing feeling to know that if you need to miss a day for whatever reason, someone will have you covered! Even the second and third year students and interns facilitate the same mentality-their knowledge in the clinic is providing us with the practical experience to feel comfortable around patients early in our education, so we won’t stumble out of the gates when it’s time for us to take over treatments of our own. ACATCM is starting to feel like family and I believe I am developing relationships that will last me the rest of my life. ---Cam |

I looked at other schools, but I liked the layout and structure of this program. It made sense to me to learn anatomy before I started doing acupuncture, and there is a wonderful rapport with the instructors here. They're always open and easily accessible. It is definitely a full program, The biggest challenge was getting into a study routine, but I have learned to study during band rehearsals, and sometimes even have show band music going through my head during exams. It is a big step - but if you have an interest in alternative medicine you owe it to yourself to take that step. ---Lori |

I found the curriculum to be quite detailed and well taught. The teaching staff is very knowledgeable and professional and inspired me to understand the subjects, not just reverberating information. The examinations are very well put together, challenging and well prepared in understanding medicine. When I am done the course I am planning to write the Alberta license exam. This will allow me to practice acupuncture in every province in Canada as well as qualifying me to write the license exam in the U.S. ---Steve |

I was a MD in China. After 5 years of practice in the Western medical field, I found that for some diseases TCM is more effective. I started to combine both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine in my treatment plan and that has turned out great. Four years ago I moved to Canada and felt it was the right time to change my career. I found the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and was very impressed by the instructors. They are professional and experienced in teaching. I've received solid knowledge and hands-on experience in not only Acupuncture but also Chinese Herbal Medicine. With all the training I am confident that I can give my clients the best treatment to help restore their health. ---Mandy |

Learning traditional medicine in a elite program gives me lots of confident to my future. It was a great turning point for me to balance Western concepts with my own cultural background. In the near future, I will be helping those people who are in despair in terms of their health. My practice will be more focused on treating patients who need long-term care and who have decisively chosen traditional medicine as their last resort. TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) is very versatile in that it can provide a variety of modalities that can benefit patients. ---Y.J. |
