Tuition is charged per credit at a single uniform rate that applies to all courses in the B.Ac program — including classroom, laboratory, clinical education, and practicum courses.

Mandatory Student Fees

The Mandatory Student Fee is assessed on an annual basis and covers essential student services, insurance, and association supports.

Per-Term Fee: $650 per academic year, paid in two installments: $500 in the Fall semester and $150 in the Winter semester.

Diploma-to-Degree Pathway

Graduates of recognized acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diploma programs — including ACATCM diploma graduates — may be eligible for advanced standing in the B.Ac degree.

Tuition & Credit Transfer

Tuition and mandatory fees are assessed only on credits taken at ACATCM. Transferred credits are not charged. Up to 50% of program credits may be recognized through prior learning assessment.

📋 A formal credential assessment determines how your prior training maps to the B.Ac curriculum — identifying the most direct path to your degree. The $250 Credential Assessment Fee covers the academic review of your transcripts, program documentation, and clinical hours by the Registrar’s Office.

Financial Aid

The B.Ac program is approved for Alberta Student Aid and Canada Student Loans. Students are encouraged to apply early, as funding decisions can affect enrollment planning.

Tuition Refund Policy

The following refund schedule applies to the Bachelor of Acupuncture program. Withdrawal is effective on the date a written notice is received by the Registrar’s Office.

Before the first day of classes 100% Enrollment deposit is non-refundable after the acceptance deadline.
Weeks 1 & 2 — Add/Drop Period 50% Mandatory student fees are non-refundable from Day 1.
Week 3 onward — After Add/Drop 0% A “W” is recorded on the transcript; no tuition refund.

Refunds are issued within 30 days of the effective withdrawal date to the original source of payment — directly to the student, or to the student loan provider where applicable.

For students receiving Alberta Student Aid or Canada Student Loans, ACATCM will report the withdrawal and process refunds in accordance with applicable funding program requirements.

Non-refundable under any circumstances: Application fee ($150), Credential Assessment Fee ($250), and Clinical Supplies Kit ($280). Mandatory student fees are non-refundable after the first day of classes.

Practicum courses (INTR301–402) are subject to additional withdrawal conditions — contact the Registrar’s Office before withdrawing once clinical hours have begun. Full details are in the Student Handbook.

Payment

Tuition and mandatory fees are due by the payment deadline published in the Academic Schedule for each semester. Students who have not paid by the deadline risk de-registration from their courses.

💊 Extended Health & Dental opt-out: Students with comparable existing group coverage (employer or spousal plan) may opt out by providing proof to the Registrar’s Office by the end of Week 2 each semester. Individual (non-group) policies do not qualify. Upon approved opt-out, a credit equal to the Health & Dental component is applied to the student account.
