How long does each acupuncture appointment take?

From start to finish, a typical acupuncture session will take 45 - 60 minutes. In certain special cases, we will not leave the needles in the points, and the session will be much shorter. This typically applies to children and emergency cases.

Inform your acupuncturist if you prefer a short or longer treatment. Ask for a buzzer before your treatment if you have any feelings of apprehensive.

What does acupuncture feel like?

Acupuncture needles are very fine, solid, and extremely flexible. They are about the thickness of human hair and 100% sterilized and disposable in our clinic.

In general, acupuncture is painless. Depending on the points, patient may feel difference sensations at times, such as: heaviness, numbness, distending, warmth and pressure. Patients who had acupuncture mostly claim the feeling is rather unfamiliar, yet pleasant and relaxing.
