Epigastric Distention and Edema

Patient Info: Female, 52. Return Patient.

Date of visit: May, 2016 

In May of 2016 the patient report feelings of distention in the epigastric region that was relieved with the application of heat and/or pressure but aggravated when the bowel or bladder were voided.

Other symptoms included edema of the ankles and lower legs.

The patient was treated with acupuncture by following primary points: LR13, LR3, TW4, SP9 and ST40.

The patient reported that the signs and symptoms of the epigastric distention were greatly diminished after this treatment. The condition was treated for another 2 sessions, with reported improvement after the very first treatment.

At the last visit the patient reported that the distension was no longer an issue.
