Introducing Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine is part of an integrated system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has an uninterrupted history of development dating back thousands of years in China and other parts of East Asia. The origins of Chinese herbal medicine can be traced back few thousand years which making it the oldest and the most long-standing health care modality to-date.

Cosmetic Acupuncture is not really a new development, Traditional Chinese Medicine has used it for thousands of years for cosmetic purposes. In China’s ancient past, procedures which involved a cosmetic change were available only to the very wealthy, probably members to the imperial family. Commoners would not have had access to either the funds or experts.

In 2003, the World Health Organisation published "Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials" providing information to the public on the effectiveness of acupuncture.

The diseases or disorders for which acupuncture therapy has been tested in controlled clinical trials reported in the recent literature can be classified into four categories as shown below.

Originated from Ear Acupuncture, Auricular Medicine is a scientific medical system mostly developed over the last century that is used to diagnose and treat many different diseases of the body and the mind solely through the ears.
