External Credit Transfer Application
A Clear and Simple Pathway from Diploma to Degree.
What is External Credit Transfer Application?
The External Credit Transfer Application is the Fall 2026 form for non-ACATCM applicants who want prior post-secondary coursework assessed toward the Bachelor of Acupuncture (B.Ac).
The form combines B.Ac admission intake with course-by-course credit transfer review. It takes about 20 minutes to complete and asks applicants to have transcripts, course outlines, and the completed B.Ac Course Equivalency Worksheet ready before starting.
Who is this application for?
Use this form if your prior coursework was completed outside ACATCM, including:
- External Canadian applicants with post-secondary coursework from a recognized Canadian institution.
- Graduates of CAA-approved acupuncture programs or other recognized acupuncture and TCM programs.
- International applicants with evaluated post-secondary coursework from a recognized institution outside Canada.
- Applicants with prior general education, biomedical science, healthcare, business, or acupuncture coursework seeking B.Ac course equivalency review.
What credit can you receive?
Credit is assessed course-by-course by comparing prior coursework to B.Ac course outcomes, level, credits, contact hours, and assessment methods.
- Courses generally require a minimum grade of C (or institutional equivalent).
- Courses should demonstrate strong alignment with B.Ac learning outcomes, typically around an 80% match.
- Coursework completed within the last 7 to 10 years is usually strongest for transfer review.
- Transfer credit and PLAR combined may not exceed 50% of the 149-credit B.Ac degree.
- Approved transfer credits satisfy degree requirements but do not affect GPA.
