In Memoriam: Dr. Hude Quan, Advisory Board Member of ACATCM

The Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) mourns the passing of Dr. Hude Quan, a respected Advisory Board Member whose insight, integrity, and generosity of spirit made a lasting contribution to our institution.
As a globally recognized leader in data analysis for medical education and research, Dr. Quan brought exceptional depth and rigor to his advisory role at ACATCM. Holding a doctoral degree in epidemiology and internationally recognized for his contributions to the World Health Organization’s work on health data standards, he offered guidance informed by both scholarly excellence and a global perspective.
In his engagement with ACATCM, Dr. Quan was thoughtful, measured, and deeply committed to the advancement of education as a public good. His perspectives consistently strengthened our discussions on academic quality, governance, and long-term vision, helping our college reflect critically and act responsibly in fulfilling our mission.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Quan will be remembered for his humility, kindness, and unwavering commitment to mentorship and service. He was a steady source of strength to those around him, and his clarity of mind and quiet resilience left a lasting impression on everyone who worked with him. He exemplified the values ACATCM strives to uphold: intellectual excellence, interdisciplinary dialogue, and genuine care for the communities we serve.
We are profoundly grateful for the time, wisdom, and trust Dr. Quan shared with ACATCM. His legacy will continue to inspire our work and our responsibility to advance health education with integrity and purpose.
We extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Quan’s family, colleagues, and all who were privileged to learn from and work alongside him. He will be greatly missed and respectfully remembered.
A memorial service for Dr. Hude Quan will be held at Foothills Alliance Church on Saturday, February 28, 2026, 9:00am – 1:00pm.
