Position Summary
ACATCM is currently seeking an experienced Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine Instructor in Calgary to teach courses related to acupuncture practice and TCM theory.
This role is ideal for qualified practitioners who are passionate about education and interested in sharing their professional experience with students preparing for careers in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Teaching assignments may include subjects such as:
- Acupuncture techniques
- Meridian theory
- Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnostics
- Foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Clinical practice and practical training
Appointments may be part-time or full-time, depending on instructor availability and institutional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical instruction in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Prepare lectures, demonstrations, and learning materials
- Evaluate student learning through assignments, exams, and practical assessments
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students
- Follow approved course outlines and teaching standards
- Participate in occasional faculty or program meetings when required
Required Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Medicine, or a related field
- Current registration or eligibility for registration as an acupuncturist in Alberta
- Minimum five (5) years of professional clinical experience in acupuncture practice
- Experience teaching acupuncture or Traditional Chinese Medicine in a post-secondary or professional training setting is preferred
- Strong communication and instructional skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in acupuncture, Chinese medicine, health sciences, or related disciplines
- Experience supervising students in clinical training environments
- Familiarity with acupuncture regulatory standards in Canada
- Ability to teach in English and Chinese (an asset)
Compensation
Compensation will be negotiated based on qualifications, teaching experience, and workload.
