Small Intestine Meridian (Hand Tai Yin) Points

SI-9 (Jian Zhen)


Chinese Name:

Jianzhen 肩贞

English translation:

True Shoulder


Posterior and inferior to the shoulder joint, when the arm is adducted, the point is 1 cun (finger inch) above the posterior end of the axillary fossa.


Pain in the scapular region.
Pain and motor impairment of hand and arm, tinnitus, deafness.
Pain in supraclavicular fossa, scrofula, headache, toothache, swelling of the mandible, excessive perspiration in armpit, fever after catching cold - the patient presents with deafness/tinnitus and sensation of cold and pain the scapular region.


Activates the meridian, alleviates pain, benefits the shoulder.


Perpendicular insertion 1.0 - 1.5 cun.
