Xuehai 血海

English translation:

Sea of Blood


When the knee is flexed, on the medial aspect of the thigh, the point is 2 cun above the mediosuperior border of the patella, on the bulge of the medial portion of m. quadriceps femoris.


Menstrual disorders (irregular menses / dysmenorrhoea / amenorrhoea), pain in the medial aspect of thigh.
Uterine haemorrhage, urticaria, eczema, vaginal discharge, skin disorders / lesions, anemia, urinary incontinence.
The five stranguries, distended abdomen due to rebellious Qi, fullness in abdomen due to "Kut", abdomen distended, chronic peritonitis, endometritis, orchitis, haemorrhage.


Invigorates and moves the Blood, cools the Blood, benefits the skin, regulates menstruation.


As the name implies, SP 10 is the point for treating disorders relating to the Blood (Blood stasis, Heat in the Blood).


Perpendicular insertion 1.0 - 1.5 cun.
