Spleen Meridian (Foot Greater Yin) Points

SP-4 (Gong Sun)

Gongsun 公孙

English translation:

Grandfather Grandson


On the medial aspect of the foot, in the depression distal and inferior to the base of the first metatarsal bone.


Luo-Connecting point of the Spleen Meridian. Master point of the Chong Mai Vessel (couple with PC 6).


Vomiting, diarrhoea, poor digestion, poor appetite, abdominal pain, stomach pain.
Borborygmus, epilepsy, oedema, facial swelling.
Endometritis, irregular menstruation, mentrual pain, placenta does not descend, post-partum syncope, tidal fevers, yin malaria with loss of eppetite, fever with abundant sweating, divagation, great thirst, endocarditis, all types of heart pain, discomfort in cardiac region, malaise below the navel, sighs often, gall bladder organ empty, hypertension, pain or paralysis of big toe and bottom of foot, foot and ankle pain.


Strengthens the Spleen, harmonizes the middle jiao, resolves dampness, regulates the Chong Mai, regulates menstruation.


Luo-Connecting points of one meridian can communicate with two meridians. They treat diseases of the collaterals and can be used to treat chronic diseases, especially chronic diseases of the Zang-Fu organs. Clinically, Luo-Connecting points are often combined with Yuan-Source points in the treatment of diseases.


Perpendicular insertion .6 - 1.2 cun.
