Student Health and Dental Benefits
Eligible domestic and international students are automatically enrolled in the Student Benefits Plan through their mandatory student fees. The plan is administered by Alumo and adjudicated by TELUS Adjudicare. It covers prescription drugs, vision care, paramedical and mental health practitioners, emergency travel assistance, and dental care.

Prescription Drugs |
80% | Up to $3,000 per benefit year for medications listed under the National Formulary with a generic rider. The maximum dispensing fee is $10. Also covers the Hepatitis B vaccine, and smoking cessation products up to $500 in a lifetime. |
Vision Care — Eye Examination |
$70 | One eye examination every 24 consecutive months. The service must be performed by a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist. |
Vision Care — Eyewear |
$150 | Eyeglasses or contact lenses are covered once every 24 consecutive months. |
Paramedical Practitioners |
80% | Up to $400 per benefit year per practitioner for services from acupuncturists, athletic therapists, chiropodists or podiatrists, chiropractors, registered massage therapists, naturopaths, osteopaths, and speech language pathologists. |
Physiotherapy |
$30per visit | Up to $400 per benefit year for services from physiotherapists. |
Mental Health Practitioners |
$30per visit | Up to $400 combined per benefit year for services from registered psychologists, qualified social workers, psychotherapists, therapists, or counsellors. Eligible practitioners are listed on the Alumo website. |
Medical Equipment & Supplies |
80% | Includes walkers, braces, prosthetics, crutches, canes, splints, trusses, wheelchairs, hospital beds, custom-made orthopedic shoes, orthotics, and more. Pre-determination is recommended. |
Ambulance Services |
80% | Up to $250 per occurrence for emergency transportation to the nearest hospital. |
Dental Accident |
80% | Up to $1,000 per accident for the repair or replacement of healthy, natural teeth damaged by sudden impact. Treatment must be completed within 12 months of the accident. If treatment is scheduled more than 90 days after the impact, a treatment plan must be submitted within the 90-day period. |
Emergency Travel Assistance |
100% | Up to $5 million per benefit year for emergency expenses on trips for vacation, business, or education purposes originating from Canada. |
Tutorial Insurance |
$15per hour | Up to $2,000 per benefit year if a student has been confined to their home or a hospital for at least 15 consecutive school days. |
Accidental Death & Dismemberment |
— | Loss of life, limb, or paralysis due to an accident, with a life benefit of $15,000. The standard Schedule of Losses, plan provisions, and limitations apply. |

15% | Inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers, bridges, and dentures. Limited to once every 5 benefit years. |
