Urinary Bladder Meridian (Toot Tai Yang) Points

UB-57 (Cheng Shan)

Chengshan 承山

English translation:

Undertaking Mountain


On the posterior midline of the lower leg between UB 40 and UB 60, when extending the toes straight or lifting the heel, the point is below of m. gastrocnemius in the apex of the depression.


  • Haemorrhoids, spasm of gastrocnemius, low back pain.
  • Constipation, foot swelling, leg pain, heel and foot pain, indigestion, vomiting and diarrhea, poor appetite, paralysis of lower limbs.
  • Sore throat, painful glomus in the chest and diaphram, adenitis, prolapsed anus, enterorrhagia, cold attack with hypersecretion, myalgia, internal and external trauma, swelling of knee, swelling of lower limb.


Relaxes the sinews, activates the meridian, treats the heel and foot, empirical point for hemorrhoids.


Perpendicular insertion 1.0 - 2.0 cun.
