How to Determine If a Course Qualifies as Transferable Credit?

Determining Transferable Credit Courses: At Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM), transferable credit refers to courses that fulfill specific academic requirements and have been taken at other recognized and accepted institutions. This allows students to transfer credits earned at other institutions towards their ACATCM program requirements.

To identify transferable credit courses, two basic measurements are used: accreditation and course content. Accredited courses must be taken from an accredited institution or accredited programs by the accreditation body. Course content must be at least 80% similar to what is offered at ACATCM.

For example, courses taken from accredited educational institutions such as universities and public colleges must have at least 80% similarity to ACATCM’s courses to be eligible for credit transfer. Similarly, courses taken from accredited programs like a 2-year massage diploma program must have at least 80% similarity to ACATCM’s courses to be eligible for credit transfer.

To determine eligibility for transferable credit, students must provide official transcripts to our administration office for assessment. Click here for more Credit Transfer information.
