Our dedication to excellence is evident in our academic programs, faculty expertise, research initiatives, campus facilities, student support services, and our graduates have been consistently outperforming the peers with 100% passing rates in Pan-Canadian Licensing Exams, which have earned us a reputation as a renowned leader in the field of TCM and acupuncture.

Inspired By Leadership & Excellence

The Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACATCM) pioneered professional education in the field of acupuncture and TCM in Alberta in 1997. Our programs emphasize both academic achievements and clinical practice, preparing students for success in the Pan Canadian Examination and ensuring a promising future.

At ACATCM, students enjoy a fulfilling experience with expert instructors who are readily available for any questions or concerns. Our instructors encourage critical thinking, making the classroom environment dynamic and enjoyable. Our acupuncture and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine programs provide the highest quality education and are recognized by the State of Administration of China as well as being a Designated Learning Institution in Canada.

Our founder, Dr. Benny Xu, R.Ac, was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 for his outstanding contributions to the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine and training in Alberta and the community. In 2022, Dr. Benny Xu was presented with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, a true honour to ACATCM and the acupuncture and TCM profession.

Friendships and Growth

One of the most significant aspects of studying at ACATCM is the friendships that students make. Our school is a place where students from diverse backgrounds come together to learn, grow, and socialize. For many students, these friendships last a lifetime and form the foundation of a supportive network of peers. At ACATCM, we believe friendships made at school can be a source of joy, encouragement, and inspiration.

While studying at ACATCM is an exciting and rewarding experience, we do recognize at times students may face challenges such as difficult coursework, social pressures, and personal struggles. However, it’s through these challenges that students grow and develop resilience, grit, and perseverance. Our school provides a safe and supportive environment where students can learn from their mistakes and develop the skills they need to succeed in life and in the career of acupuncture and TCM.

In essence, studying at ACATCM is an exciting journey of learning and growth. It’s a community where students can pursue academic excellence, engage in extracurricular activities, make lasting friendships, and overcome challenges. ACATCM is not just a place to acquire knowledge and skills; it’s a place to discover oneself, one’s passions, learn, grow, and succeed.
