Scholarship and Bursary

At ACATCM, we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams and excel in their studies. That’s why we are proud to offer financial aid with a range of scholarships and bursaries to support our students in their educational journey.

Below you will find information about the scholarships and bursaries, including eligibility criteria, application processes, and deadlines. We encourage all eligible students to explore these opportunities and embark on an incredible educational journey with us!

Red Leaf Wellness Award for Acupuncture Excellence

This Acupuncture scholarship was established to recognize excellence in the Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine program. Red Leaf Wellness will graciously provide a gift of $1,000 CAD in award funds to one recipient in accordance with the terms set forth below: 

– Be a continuing, full-time student enrolled at least their 2nd year of the Double Major Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine program at the ACATCM.
– Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.7, be in good academic standing, and no academic misconduct or non-academic misconduct.
– Submit a 500-word essay highlighting their excellence in a volunteer role/activity, their TCM journey, and how the funds would shape their education/career, and their desires for the future of TCM including ways they might be able to contribute.
– Exclusion Criteria: previous Red Leaf Wellness award recipient, non-ACATCM student

Disbursement of Funds: Beginning of September


Red Leaf Wellness Bursary

This Acupuncture Bursary was established to support a student in the Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine program. Red Leaf Wellness will graciously provide a gift of $1,000 CAD in award funds to one recipient in accordance with the terms set forth below:  

– Be a continuing, full-time student enrolled at least their 2nd year of the Double Major Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine program at the ACATCM.
– Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.3, be in good academic standing, and no academic misconduct or non-academic misconduct.
– Demonstrates financial need: 
– Specific threshold: Applicant makes below a certain income level as determined by the suggested reference low-income cut-offs (LICOs) ,
– Self-identification: Applicant describes their financial need (Reference can be found here)
– Relative definition: Applicant explains their education costs versus their limited ability to fund it
– Submit a 500-word essay highlighting their TCM journey, summarizing their financial need, outlining how the funds would shape their education/career, and their desires for the future of TCM including ways they might be able to contribute.
– Exclusion Criteria: previous Red Leaf Wellness award recipient, non-ACATCM student

Application Deadline: End of July
Disbursement of Funds: Beginning of September


Alberta Student Aid

Alberta’s government offers scholarships and awards based on academic excellence and achievement, to encourage and reward the excellence of Albertans in post-secondary study.

Scholarships for International Students

Global Affairs Canada is responsible for the Government of Canada’s participation in major international scholarship programs. It features international scholarships offered by Canadian governments, foreign governments, non-governmental and international organizations.

Indspire Bursaries and Scholarships (Indigenous Education)

Since 1996, Indspire has provided over $190 million in financial support through more than 59,000 bursaries, scholarships and awards to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students. All Building Brighter Futures donations are matched by the Government of Canada allowing us to be double the impact for students. Disability Awards

The Disability Awards website is created by the National Educational Association of Disabled Students (NEADS) to help post-secondary students search hundreds of scholarships available across Canada specifically for students with disabilities.
